Avoid a band's music before seeing them in concert?

I blogged about this today, over at Geek Force Five, but I figured this was a good place to get the discussion going too.

How do you guys feel about avoiding the music of a band you're going to see in concert in the week(s) leading up to the concert? Ever done that? See any merit in it?
